ThriftOx Privacy Policy

ThriftOx is operated by Valleytainment Productions LLC. This policy explains the information ThriftOx processes, why it is used, how sharing features work, and how to request deletion.

Account deletion: You can request permanent deletion at /delete-account.html. Signed-in users may also use the account-deletion path provided from the app/privacy surfaces. Payment providers may retain transaction records when required for tax, fraud prevention, disputes, or other legal obligations.

1. Information ThriftOx processes

Account and authentication

Firebase user ID and authentication information supplied by the sign-in provider.
Email address, display name, or profile information when provided through authentication.
Subscription plan/status and provider linkage needed to determine access.

Scans, inventory, and reseller workflow data

Photos submitted for item analysis and the AI-generated analysis returned for those photos.
Saved scans, inventory records, buy price, sold price, listing workflow state, notes, and related reseller inputs that you choose to save.
Usage counters and server-side scan reservation records used to enforce subscription limits and prevent double charging.

Technical, security, and abuse-prevention data

Device fingerprint when available and network/IP information used to protect the free tier from repeated-account abuse.
Security, error, and operational logs needed to diagnose failures and protect the service.
Product analytics events when analytics is enabled. ThriftOx is designed to avoid placing direct account PII in analytics event payloads.

2. AI processing

Photos and scan context submitted for analysis are sent through ThriftOx's authenticated server to Google Gemini for item identification, condition reasoning, resale guidance, and related reseller analysis. AI output can be incorrect. ThriftOx does not use AI analysis as an authentication certificate, appraisal, or guarantee of value.

3. Live Feed sharing

Live Feed posting is optional and manual. A post is visible to signed-in ThriftOx users. Live Feed currently publishes a limited subset of inventory fields needed for the card; free-form private inventory notes and purchase dates are not copied into new feed posts.

ThriftOx creates a background-blurred display image before publication. Background blur is not automatic face, text, address, receipt, screen, or license-plate redaction. Review photos for sensitive information before publishing.

Live Feed includes hide, reseller-blocking, and reporting controls. Reports may be stored for safety review. Blocking is viewer-specific and is intended to prevent posts from the blocked reseller from appearing in that viewer's feed.

4. Optional eBay integration

If you connect eBay, ThriftOx stores encrypted OAuth connection material and seller setup information needed to create or manage listings. ThriftOx also receives verified eBay Marketplace Account Deletion notifications when configured, and removes matching local eBay connection state when a stored identifier can be matched.

5. Payments

Web subscriptions may be processed by Stripe. Android subscriptions may be processed by Google Play. ThriftOx stores only the provider identifiers and subscription state needed to determine access and reconcile billing; payment-card details are handled by the payment provider.

6. Service providers

Google Firebase / Google Cloud: authentication, database, and storage.
Google Gemini: AI scan analysis.
Stripe: web subscription checkout and management when used.
Google Play: Android subscription billing when used.
eBay: optional seller integration when you connect an eBay account.

7. Storage and security

ThriftOx uses HTTPS in transit, authenticated Firebase access controls, server-only billing and usage authority for sensitive entitlement fields, and additional controls around public sharing. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Retention

Application data is kept while needed to provide the service, maintain account state, resolve safety/security issues, or meet legitimate legal and operational obligations. Safety and billing records may require different retention periods from ordinary inventory data.

9. Deletion, access, correction, and portability

You may request deletion of your ThriftOx account and application data through the account deletion page or by contacting team@valleytainment.com. The app also provides inventory export tools for user-controlled portability.

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may provide additional access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, or portability rights. ThriftOx will evaluate verified requests under the law that applies to the request; this policy does not claim that every jurisdiction has identical rights or requirements.

10. Children

ThriftOx is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of applicable requirements, contact us so the account can be reviewed.

11. Policy changes

We may update this policy as the product or legal requirements change. The current version and date will be posted on this page.
